Business Support: July 2021 Lockdown

General Cash Support:

The Victorian Government has announced, Wednesday 21 July 2021, further support payments relating to the May-June lockdown:

  • Eligible Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund recipients will receive $4,200, taking the total payment for current restriction period to $7,200
  • Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two recipients will receive $2,800, increasing the total grant to $4,800.
  • Businesses that had chosen not to apply for these support programs in relation to the May/June lockdown, or had been ineligible to apply but are now eligible, will be welcome to apply for July lockdown support payments and will be considered outside of the automatic top-up process.

COVID-19 Disaster Payments:

  • Discussions with the Commonwealth Government have confirmed that the vast majority of microbusinesses not registered for GST will be eligible for the Covid-19 Disaster Payment of $600/$375 per seven-day period.
  • The Victorian Government is establishing a concierge service to help these businesses access this support.
  • All applications will be made through Services Australia. Payments will be made in arrears on application to Services Australia 7 days after the commencement of the lockdown (that is Friday 23 July 2021).
  • Businesses that do not received Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two or Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund should check their eligibility for the Covid-19 Disaster Payment.
  • The COVID-19 Disaster Payment is co-funded by the Commonwealth and the Victorian Governments.

Tourism, Sport and Events

  • Alpine hospitality, retail, accommodation and experience operators that are eligible for grants of up to $15,000 under the Alpine Support Program will receive an extra $3,000 through a further $1.2 million injection, on top of any entitlements under the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund or Business Costs Assistance Program.
  • Eligible public event organisers and suppliers affected by the lockdown will receive support of up to $25,000 and $10,000 respectively through an extension of the Impacted Public Events Support Program.
  • A new round of the Live Performance Support programs, with funding of up to $7,000 for presenters and up to $2,000 for suppliers, has also been confirmed.
  • A new round of the Sporting Clubs Grants Program will provide $2,000 grants for community sport and active recreation organisations for events that have been unable to proceed or will have to be cancelled or postponed.

COVIDSafe Deep Cleaning Rebate

The Victorian Government’s COVIDSafe Deep Cleaning Rebate remains open to support eligible small and medium-sized businesses where anyone onsite has been suspected or confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19).

The rebate helps eligible businesses cover the cost of hiring professional cleaning services to conduct a deep or decontamination clean of their worksite.

The rebate covers up to 80 per cent of a business’ cleaning costs, capped at a grant of $10,000 (for a total cleaning cost of $12,500).

Small Business: Partners in Wellbeing

The Partners in Wellbeing helpline is available to support small businesses with one-to-one wellbeing support and free access to financial counsellors and business advisors.

This free and confidential service is available by calling 1300 375 330 seven days a week (9am to 10pm weekdays, 9am to 5pm weekends).

The expanded helpline is part of the Andrews Government’s $26 million Wellbeing and Mental Health Support program for small businesses and their employees.

Business Recovery and Resilience Mentoring

Operated in partnership with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Andrew Labor Government’s $10 million Business Recovery and Resilience Mentoring program matches small business owners and sole traders with experienced professional mentors to help them adapt their businesses and strategies.
